All of Our Needs go to The Lord

All of our needs go to the Lord.

I don't desire to be poor, but I also don't desire to be rich by worldly standards. I had a full-time well paying job with many opportunities to advance and make more money. I owned a home and a car and had a large amount of expendable income. I would have started an internship this January to have a much sought after title of Registered Dietitian. After, I could have worked anywhere in the country with an entry level income of $50,000. But, I gave it all up. In Genesis God tells Jacob to "Go up to Bethel and dwell there."(Gen. 35: 1) as to purify themselves and trust the Lord more whole-heartedly. In doing so, Jacob takes every physical thing that takes his attention away from God and buries them. I too am burying every "thing" that I trust more than God and I count them as loss for the sake of Christ. Doing the will of God is worth more than these worldly standards.

All of our needs go the The Lord.

I will plead to Christ and Christ alone for our needs. I desire to trust the Lord for all of my needs and believe every word of the Bible. I long to strengthen the faith of other believers by showing them that God's words are true and he keeps His promises. I pray that by giving visible proof of the faithfulness of the Lord I may strengthen them.

The gospel is an absolute. You either believe every word or you don't. Scripture must be placed into complete context. A phrase is in context to that paragraph, which is in context to that chapter, which is in context to that book, which is in context to the New Testament, which is in context to the Old Testament. The God we believe is the same God in the Old Testament. When placed in complete context with who God and Jesus are these scriptures are true to their word:

"Sell your possessions and give to the needy... For where you treasure is, there will your heart be also." (Luke 12: 33-34)

"Instead, seek God's kingdom, and these things will be added to you." (Luke 12: 31)

"Pay to all what is owed to them... Owe no man anything..." (Romans 13: 7-8)

"Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have." (Hebrews: 13: 5)

"God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life." (Galatians 6: 7-8)

I will sow into the Spirit.

All of our needs go to the Lord.

This is one of the few posts you will see from me on this topic as it leads into a Catch 22 of some sort. If I announce every week how God has provided for us during our greatest times of need it will glorify the Lord, but it will also cause some to offer support out of pity for our current situation and not out of a movement by God. It's rather difficult to explain really. I will, in the future, compile a list of how God has provided for us as a way to glorify His name. This may happen monthly, quarterly or yearly.

All of our needs will go to the Lord.
